Asset Management - Desktop Support Engineer - 1M - 1.5M

This client is a global leading asset management firm dedicated to delivering outstanding investment performance and service to their clients. The head of IT is seeking a skilled and proactive Desktop Support Engineer to join their IT department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software, ensuring the seamless operation of our desktop computing environment. 


Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, via email, or in person. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, operating systems, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including installing and upgrading hardware and software, applying patches, and ensuring network security and connectivity.
  • Asset Management: Manage inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and peripheral devices. Ensure accurate tracking and documentation for compliance and budgeting purposes.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed documentation of all IT procedures, system configurations, and common troubleshooting steps. Assist in developing and conducting user training sessions to improve staff IT literacy and self-sufficiency.
  • Collaboration and Projects: Work closely with the IT team to implement new technology initiatives and projects. Collaborate with vendors and external support teams as needed to resolve complex issues.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure all desktop environments comply with industry standards and company policies regarding data security and privacy. Assist in conducting security audits and participate in remediation efforts.


Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or similar roles, preferably within the financial services or asset management industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, and common business applications
  • Experience with ITSM platforms, remote desktop support tools, and basic network troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar are a plus.
